Lottery

We have openings for the current 25/26 school year!

Openings are available in multiple grades (Kindergarten through 3rd grade). We also have short waitlists for 4th–6th grades.

If you are interested in enrolling for the current school year, please join the lottery/waitlist below and email Julia Sutter.

Multiple siblings can be added via our waitlist.

For Kindergarten, your child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026.

Lottery Process

Lottery registration for the 2026/27 school year opened on January 5, 2026 and closes on March 20, 2026.

Parent Information Nights: Interested parents are strongly encouraged to attend parent information meetings and tours on our campus to learn about the lottery process and our school’s program.

Please note that these information nights are for PARENTS/GUARDIANS ONLY. (We appreciate you leaving the little ones at home!)

  • January 12th from 5:30–6:30pm

  • February 9th from 5:30–6:30pm

  • March 9th from 5:30–6:30pm

  • April 13th from 5:30–6:30pm

Sibling Policy: Siblings of current Desert Sky Montessori students must enter the lottery for placement. Siblings of Desert Sky Montessori students are given priority.

Notification: Notification of lottery results will be sent by our school office in spring.

Acceptance: Acceptance into one of the charter/magnet programs is non-transferable to a different school.

Eligibility

Any student residing within the Bend-La Pine Schools boundaries is eligible to attend Desert Sky Montessori.

If resident students do not request all of the spots available, non-resident students may be enrolled.

For Kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026.

Waitlist

Once the lottery is complete, when an opening occurs, the first name on the waitlist becomes eligible to fill that spot. A family will have one opportunity to rotate to the bottom of the waitlist should they not be ready to accept the open spot at the time offered. The second time a family becomes eligible, they must either accept the opening or be removed from the waitlist.

The waitlist is active for one school year. For a family to remain on the waitlist for the following year, they must re-enter for the following year’s lottery.
