Desert Sky Montessori invites you to be a part of Central Oregon’s first and only tuition-free Montessori public charter school. Our vibrant school is located in the beautiful community of Bend, just minutes from world-class skiing and snowboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing, rafting, fishing, hiking, and a myriad of other recreational activities.

Desert Sky opened its doors in 2017 and has since grown to seven classrooms serving kindergarten through 6th grade. We provide an experiential indoor/outdoor education on a natural five-acre campus surrounded by ponderosa pines and lava features.

  • The individual in this position will help implement an afterschool program that aligns with our regular Montessori program, as well as assist in general classroom management.

    Schedule

    • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:30 pm-6:00 pm

    • Wednesday from 1:00 pm-6:00pm

    • Additional hours may be available via substitute teaching during regular school hours

    Experience

    • Childcare, early childhood education, outdoor education, sports coaching, or similar experience preferred

    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students

    Pay

    • Hourly with a competitive wage

    Applicants must be at least 18 years old; have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent; and pass a background check.
